Our new website is now fully up and running and we’re so pleased with the wonderful feedback you’ve been giving us. We’ve spent a lot of time designing it and getting all the products and photos updated but we’re now developing other parts of the site, such as the inspiration gallery so please take a look around when you have time!
Despite the Coronavirus and lockdown, we have been busier than ever with orders (up 300%!) and have been doing our best to keep up – so thank you for bearing with us and thank you to our amazing team who have juggled illness, social distancing, children at home and still managed to help us keep up cutting and processing all your orders in these challenging times!
Please do still allow extra time for us to turn around your orders (and Parcelforce to deliver them) we will be busy right into July we think, before any semblance of normality is returned! Please check the site message (at the very top of any website page) for our current production status at any time.
Summer Shutdown Week
Advanced warning that our annual summer shutdown week is August 31st to September 4th. We re-open Monday September 7th.
June / July Free Gift
This month we’re giving you a little pocket hug to give or send to your favourite pal / family member / customer … to show them some love from a distance and give them a keepsake to pop in their purse / wallet or attach on the fridge as a memento … This shape is actually from our new ‘ galaxy’ range – it is the ‘medium planet at 52p – but it doubles up perfectly as a pocket hug as the rings of Saturn become the hugging arms! We’ve also paired it with one of our wallet cards with cut-outs for a really special gift!
Seasonal / Marketing Ideas
– Summer is on the way!
Summer is almost here and we have lots of holiday ideas here at Subli Metals – even if your original holiday plans have changed! Our beach hut shape(shown here in A4) is great as wall decor and looks fantastic in a beach themed bathroom – why not try it as a clock? or as some summer themed bunting? Our dry-wipe signs are ideal for children and keep them occupied for hours – while saving your paper! Why not print them up with game outlines, like noughts and crosses, hangman or print a clock face and use it as an aid to teach the time? With even more school holidays approaching – an A5 dry-wipe sheet makes a great behaviour chart to keep track of the bad and reward the good! Children LOVE our hinged tins with printable toppers for collecting or storing things. Or why not print up a yummy ice-cream to keep cool – shown here in giant A4?
- Electric guitar shape in 2 styles and sizes from Super giant (A3) down to tiny
- Galaxy shapes – rocket, planet, moons, in Giant (A4) to tiny
- Train shape and carriage shape in 5 sizes
- Tractor shape in 6 sizes
- Memorial plaques / garden markers in 3 sizes
- Clocks – tractor, train, guitars, planet, rocket & moon
NEW WEBSITE TIPS
We have made our new website far more image led – using photos of products to try and help you find your favourite items as easily as possible. However, you may not have found this as easy as we hoped you would, till you learn which sections include which items – so we have some extra help! We have included a text ‘mega-menu’ with all the categories and their associated sub categories listed as links.
It’s a much quicker way of accessing sub categories. It is accessible from the (+) show categories button, which is to the right of the breadcrumb trail at the top of every page (just below the inspiration gallery tab) which you click to toggle the menu on and off again. Hopefully it will help show how we have now structured all our products and help you locate any you haven’t been able to find since the rebrand!
Customer ‘Share to win’ photos
Topical photos this month from our customers! This gorgeous wallet card from Gemma Appleby is perfect for this year and her customers who can’t visit relatives in person to show you are thinking of them and it is also a great example of our double-sided items. Second thank you goes to Marianne Stevens with this lovely triptych – a wonderful way to remind those you can’t be with at the moment of happier times – which we will have again! Both Gemma and Marianne get a £10 voucher off their next orders – just for sharing these photos!
Product profile – Galaxy shapes
Create gifts that are ‘out of this world!’
We have created a range of coordinating ‘ Galaxy shapes , that work perfectly together for a multitude of uses. We have planets, moons, stars, and rockets in various sizes to adorn any space – from a nursery, child’s room, teenagers pad to a man cave!
- The smaller items make great keepsakes – keyring charms and jewelry plus – as your free sample this month shows – you can even use them in creative ways – the planet can become a pocket hug! The crescent can be hung in different ways to make an unusual pendant.
- The larger (and long versions) make great bookmarks, fridge magnets, coasters, and of course fabulous wall art, signs and clocks
- Team them with stars and circles for more astronomy themed masterpieces!
NASA have recently made their photo gallery back catalog free to download – so why not create a fab planet mobile or metal wall chart with real life images for maximum impact!
We’ve had a few personnel changes this year – last month we said a fond farewell to Charlotte, who has been writing this newsletter for the last couple of years for us, assisting Nicci – she has found a fabulous job in journalism – we wish her all the luck in the world… and we welcome Louise to help in the packing and production department – to join Emily and Rachel, who also started with us earlier in the year, after Rob and Laura moved on. So this is your current fabulous team, along with directors Nicci and Carl, Managers Claire and Sam, plus Aimiee and Bev – who all work very hard to get your orders processed – cut, finished and packed as fast as humanly possible! (and not forgetting Clover and Petal, the workshop dogs who help in the staff moral department lol)
Happy Subbing and Keep safe,
Nicci, Carl, Bev, Claire, Sam, Aimee, Emily, Rachel, Louise, Clover and Petal – the Subli Metals team!
