JULY/AUGUST NEWSLETTER 2025

Summer (hopefully!) can mean holidays, and we have a great selection of products on this theme, from practical luggage tags to lovely keepsakes. Plus (unfortunately) we all need to plan back to school – or work! – so we’ve expanded our office section to include rulers, stationery sets, clipboards, and ideas for study aids, planners, and more!

Summer is also synonymous with sport, so our project for this issue covers just that, plus we’ve got tons of brand new Sport shape launches for you to check out. We’re covering as many sports as we can with items for fans and players alike – with lovely gift sets and award ideas – so many, there is bound to be something your customers will love!

We also have some info on our newest metal finishes – Matt and Textured – plus, read right to the end as this a bumper packed newsletter of inspiration! We are launching a new section and reviewing all our best products and ideas for Christmas (not quite so summery!).

Finally, a reminder that we’re closed for our Summer Break from Bank Holiday Monday 25th August until Thursday 28th August, re-opening on Monday 1st September! Please take these dates into account when placing your orders to ensure you receive your items when you need them (both before and the busy week when we return!).

July/August Free Gift

For our Share To Win we have an array of holiday themed fridge magnets from Sam Williams using our beach and holiday themed shapes! She’s shown off how you can use them for dry wipe countdowns, displaying a holiday photo, and creating something a bit more decorative.

We also have Cath Faulkner’s brilliant Northern Ireland fridge magnet using the Large size! This is another great idea for creating fun holiday keepsakes using a collage of photos from the trip.

Seasonal/Marketing Ideas

Holidays!

We have just launched a selection of Fancy Shaped Luggage Tags to adorn anyone’s luggage for their holiday! A great way of making sure all your information is displayed (in style of course) and your luggage easy to spot when it whizzes round the carousel! Along with our standard sizes, we have something that both kids and adults will like…

The Fancy Shaped Luggage Tags are available in many styles: from beach designs, to t-shirts, cars, lego bricks, suitcases, and trains! The shapes come with either a natural gap, a 6mm hole, or a slot (where shown), which allows you to easily attach them to your luggage bag with an optional choice of metal fastener, plastic strap, 20mm split ring, or various jazzy colours of ball chain!

We also have a number of products that are perfect for creating holiday keepsakes! The Square Fridge Magnet Gift Set offers 63 x 63 mm squares in a set of 5, 10, or 15 complete with a tin or bag. This little set is perfect for capturing holiday memories with a set of polaroid style fridge magnets!

Plus, our Triptych Sets – Plane, A5, and A7 – can be used to display holiday memories as a unique hanging decoration and another way to remember a fun trip – they make lovely gifts for your customer’s families and friends!

Stationery!

Flashcards and Study Planners are ideal aids, especially for those students entering exam years. Our Metal Card Set is ideal for flashcards, and we also have a number of shapes that would work brilliantly as dry wipe study planners: from our standard A3 and A4 rectangles, to our Spiral Notebook, Lego Style Brick, and Oblong Gem.

Our new Luxury Metal Clipboards – in sturdy 1mm white – are an essential piece of equipment for any stationery lover who needs to keep their notes and papers organised. They have a lot of design potential, especially when personalised, and the whole front of the board (or the back of the board – your choice as to which way) can be sublimated, as the clip is assembled and added to the board AFTER pressing!

Joining our existing standard ruler blanks, which we have now updated with a FREE ruler measurement artwork download, we now have some cool fancy shaped rulers! These are all perfect candidates to be personalised gifts – especially for students and lovers of all things stationery (they were a big hit in the Subli Metals Office!). These new rulers can measure up to 15cm, and will fit into most standard sized pencil cases – including our cool printable topper metal pencil tins!

Finally, our new Stationery Set is the perfect gift for any stationery lover! Fitting into our 181 x 76 x 22 mm pencil tin is: a choice of one of our rulers, a giant paperclip (great both as a bookmark and to hold papers together), a pencil, and a stack of post it notes. This is a great starter set that is ready for you to add extra pens, pencils, and other stationery accessories…

  

New Matt and Textured Finishes!

New to a number of products on our website is a range of Matt and Textured metals! We now have the following available: Textured White, Matt White, Matt Brushed Silver, and Matt Brushed Gold in 0.5 mm, Double Sided Matt White in 0.7 mm, and Matt White, Double Sided Matt White, and Outdoor Grade Double Sided Matt White in 1 mm.

Currently you will find these new metals on our Alu Sheet, Custom Cut Sheet, Custom Cut Oversize Sheet, and Door Plaque listings (essentially in most of the standard sizes we offer). We have been starting to identify some of our shapes which these metals would work well in, but if you have any requests for products to add this metal to then please get in touch and we will see if this is something we can offer.

The Matt finish gives a sumptuous smooth and silky look to the design printed onto it. It’s also quite easy to photograph as it doesn’t reflect the light in the same way our glossy metal does! The Matt finish is also perfect for very classy Jewellery pieces.

In contrast, the Textured finish is very different to any of our other metals. The rougher surface doesn’t hinder the print, but instead offers a unique, almost ‘canvas’ feel and finish! We will be adding items that are enhanced by this texture very soon!

 

Looking Towards Christmas…

We know it’s early (there’s been many a debate on this in the Subli Metals Workshop!), but we’re starting to take a look at some of our brilliant products and ideas for Christmas to get you inspired early and allow you to get a head start when marketing to your customers!

Super Stars!

The Stars are our free gift throughout July and August, so if you order you will receive a random size and colour to sample. They are such a versatile and popular product of ours, and there are so many ways in which you can use them! Plus some exciting news – they have just been through a price drop, giving you an even better deal!

Focusing on Christmas uses for the Stars, they are of course brilliant as baubles for the tree – whether you’re celebrating your first Christmas in a new home, with a new baby, or as a newlywed couple or if you want to hang up a memorial to loved ones no longer with us, then the star is a classic choice, as of course is using one to top the Christmas tree (did we mention that we have some special Tree Topper cut out versions just for this?) with matching Tea Light Wraps and Cake Toppers too!

Gift Tags are another great idea and you have the option to go with a personalised or a decorative angle! Thinking along these same lines (but with the stars being used as a gift rather than an accessory to the gift), you could create cute gift tokens, badges, or a sweet little pocket hug if you combine the star with our business cards.

We have also incorporated this classic star shape in our Freestanding trophy selection, in 2 styles and 2 sizes – A5 and A6 – these could also be utilised as a lovely Christmas gift or decoration (and remember, these are included in this month’s 20% off special offer!)

Magnetic Countdown Sets!

Our Magnetic Countdown Sets utilise our brilliant 0.7 mm Steel – which is a delight to press and the finished products look amazing! Each of the sets comes with an A4 Ricoh Steel Sheet (with the option for square or rounded corners) and a choice between a handful of small shapes, such as: a Gonk, Fox, Frog, Penguin, and more! Included is also a magnet strip which will be cut to the size of the shape you have chosen to ensure it fits well.

There are so many ideas to be explored for a Christmas Countdown with this set. The shape could be climbing up a tree – or a set of stairs – to eventually get to the spot at the top by Christmas Day. It could even be printed up as a December Calendar (without the days/numbers labelled so it can be filled in with a dry wipe pen and reused each year!) and the shape can again be moved along as the days pass.

The Countdown Sets are perfect for the whole family to get involved with, and are such an ideal product to be personalised to add an extra special touch to the countdown to Christmas!
