Project 031: Stylish Steampunk!

Steampunk is a bit of a niche market, but it has been growing in popularity in recent years. For those who are unsure of what it is all about, Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction that incorporates retrofuturistic technology and aesthetics inspired by Victorian-era industrialism. It is nostalgia for an era that never was!

The growing popularity has inspired a range of events across the country in which people come together – all genders, ages, and races (many in amazing costumes!) to celebrate and enjoy Steampunk!

With this in mind, we have had fun exploring these ideas and have a fantastic array of new products to share that fit the Steampunk, Magic, and Fantasy themes… great for gift ideas for men, women, and everyone in between – young and old alike!

Magic Themed!

The new Top Hat and Playing Card Suit Shapes are perfect for a magic, Alice in Wonderland, or Steampunk theme! Combine with our existing Dove or Rabbit shapes for Magical products!

You could even use our Playing Card Sized item and combine them with some of our smaller sized Playing Card Suit Shapes to create a selection of cool 3D products!

The Top Hat and Playing Card Suits will make good dry wipe score signs for any kind of Card or Board Game. Large sizes of these shapes would work as unique business cards – great for people like Magicians and Children’s Entertainers as a fun way of advertising their business!

These shapes are also fantastic when used as Door Plaques and can add a stylish touch to the door of a Craft, Workshop, or Game Room, Office or Bedroom. Be creative with signs, and consider other shapes – anyone for a Skull Ice Cream Cone?!

Fantasy Forest Themed!

We have a selection of new shapes that fit great into the Fantasy Forest theme that we delved into last time! We only just scratched the surface however, as there are so many possibilities of products and designs within the realms of the Fantasy theme!

The New! Frog, Holly Leaf, Fairy, Cloud Tree, Mushroom, Toadstool, and Log Shapes are all ready to become a range of different products from hanging decorations to keyrings – perfect for anyone who loves nature themed items!

Our new Frog Shape can also be a Bear (or other animal) face too, whilst our existing filled Horseshoe shape doubles as a cute Owl! Pair them with our range of bees, snails and butterflies for more design ideas. These make super cute fridge magnets, jewellery charms, or you could even make some fun bookmarks by adding a hole and a tassel!

Scene in a Tin and Steampunk Galore!

We have a stack of fun new Steampunk inspired shapes for you to check out, many multi-use!…

The new Hot Air Balloon/Lightbulb Shape is perfect for a dry wipe ‘Bright Ideas sign’, but can also become a cool Steampunk Hot Air Balloon dry wipe sign or decoration!

Our new Straight and Curved Pipes and Hexagon Nut shapes embody the industrial and machinery aspects of Steampunk, but of course, they have many more uses outside of Steampunk for those not so interested, for example: they can be a great products for Plumbers and builders or anyone who loves DIY – Father’s Day ideas for the practical Dad maybe?

Perhaps a staple of Steampunk aesthetics are Cogs, and we have three new variations of Cogs to choose from! The Sun Cog, Slotted Gear, and Spiked Saw Blade are available in a range of sizes in both ‘Filled’ and ‘Cut Out’ variations so you can mix and match them. The Cogs have also been designed so that the same sizes of the same cogs will fit together just like real cogs, allowing you to create unique displays!

A lot of our existing shapes work well within the theme of Steampunk too! The Bee, Butterfly, Mason Jar, and Hexagon Shapes (just to name a few) can be printed up and personalised with all sorts of awesome Steampunk designs to create fridge magnets, bookmarks, keyrings, jewellery charms, wall art, and more!

If you’re into Steampunk costumes and dressing up for various Steampunk events, a member of our design team came up with this brilliant idea of incorporating our shapes into hair accessories!

This could be a great way of adding something extra to a Steampunk costume, and you could also look into creating jewellery, badges and brooches, plus keyrings, and charms to decorate outfits!

Our new ‘Scenes in Tins’ make beautiful gifts to display! Choose a size of tin and one of our shape sets to get started…

Each tin comes with inner inserts so you can create a backdrop for your scene. The tins also come with their standard topper so you can really personalise each tin set depending on who it is for.

You could even leave a space for a gift to be placed or hung in the tin, making the tin both part of the gift and the gift holder! You could also add a string of little fairy lights to give the scene an added extra touch (You can see this effect in one of the examples pictured along the side).
